Begin your safari with a truly immersive experience in Arusha National Park. Unlike traditional safaris, a guided walking safari allows you to explore the wilderness on foot alongside an armed ranger. Encounter giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and diverse birdlife while appreciating the smaller wonders of nature.
Later, enjoy a peaceful canoeing excursion on a scenic lake (season and conditions permitting). Glide across calm waters surrounded by dramatic landscapes and wildlife — a serene yet thrilling perspective of Tanzania’s natural beauty.
Travel toward the Great Rift Valley, stopping at the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu — one of Tanzania’s most culturally diverse communities. Accompanied by a local guide, explore farms, local markets, artisan workshops, and everyday village life. This enriching experience provides rare insight into Tanzanian culture, cuisine, and traditions.
Afterwards, continue to the lush highlands of Karatu, a beautiful region of rolling hills and fertile landscapes near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Today brings a spectacular trekking experience to Empakai Crater. Accompanied by a ranger and guide, hike along the crater rim and descend toward the alkaline lake below. The scenery is dramatic and serene — lush forests, steep crater walls, and often thousands of flamingos decorating the lake. Views may extend to distant volcanic peaks on clear days.

4. Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in savannah. Many of them work on solar energy. This sometimes means bucket showers, limited wi-fi and no hair dryers, all in an effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your travel style.
